More Tablet Weaving Learning

I started on the tablet weaving for the strap a few nights ago. My first 8 picks looked perfect, but when I moved into the pattern turning, things looked funny. Much like there is a learning curve for learning to read knitting charts, I could tell something was off but not yet identify what it was. Turned out I started picking from the wrong side of the weaving. That hasn't mattered in previous patters because the turning pattern was so simple. But I got it figured out with relatively little trouble and moved along. I have completed one repeat of the twining pattern and one repeat of the intertwining pattern.

There is a lot of emotional upheaval and turmoil around my professional and personal life due to the horrific event in Lewiston and the continued hunt for the suspect. So having something a little challenging to work with my hands is a helpful thing. One step at a time, slowly making progress and focusing on creation not destruction and devastation.

First 8 picks
So here it is: the most complicated turning pattern I've attempted so far. Of course that doesn't take much since I've only done one single direction and one that was 4 turns forward, flip the border cards, then 4 turns back. I really like how it's coming along. The thicker cotton yarn is just what I was hoping for in the strap as far as width and the twining nature of the card weaving makes it a little cushy!
Got the link pattern established!

I'm pulling the pattern here from the Birka motif described here: https://www.shelaghlewins.com/tablet_weaving/patterns_past.php
This site is my most used for tablet weaving patterns (but again, this is only my 4th attempt!)
I'm using Rowan Handknit Cotton: 92yds/50g, classified as worsted weight, but I'd say it's light worsted if not DK. Cotton fiber tends to be heavier than wool at the same thickness so the comparison is a little tricky. It's fun to be weaving with something so much thicker than the linen/cotton thread I have been using. This pattern is 70 warp threads and about 1 3/4" wide.
