Last year our province seneschal gave such an inspiring speech about our participation in the Local Pride Festival, that I had to do * something * . That something turned into weaving and sewing 50+ favors (I honesetly have no idea how many I made) This year I decided the pattern needed to be different and simpler. The simplicity was needed for 2 reasons: I'm back at work full time and don't have unending time to make these, and I have 2 new weavers working with me!! Our chatelaine/deputy seneschal has falling in love with weaving, and one of our long time members has decided to throw herself into the game and play hard this year!
We stuck with the classic herringbone twill that is a documented period weave. I designed the pattern draft with black edges so the warp and weft are the same color. I find this to be more forgiving when edges aren't perfect. So we are weaving yards and yards of rainbows to adorn our populace! I hope to start cutting and assembling in the next week!
