Several weeks ago (closer to 2 months), I had a spare minute or 2 to breathe and decided it would be a grand thing to offer up some custom handwoven belt favors as part of a local fundraiser. I enjoy making these and it seemed like a perfectly reasonable project. I'm happy to say it has turned out to be so, and I think its funny that the winner wanted more rainbows. We decided to stick with the herringbone twill weave - it's so classic - and would have a few woven with bi-pride pink/purple/blue and the rest would be standard 6 color pride rainbows.
I had expected to fly through these, but life has been unkind for the last month and my production speed has definitely slowed. I didn't get these off the loom, so I couldn't start the next phase of my haithabu bag in time for the December A&S Display. It's not the end of the world, or even a true problem. But I am now super motivated to get things moving and finished to be able to display for Kingdom level A&S. Not sure if I'm going to compete as well, but display will definitely happen. I did submit my tablet weaving and the dyed yarn for the online display piece at least. Oh, and I finally wrapped up the donations for the initial round of Pride Favors. So now time to get the last few fundraiser pieces completed and on to planning for Pride 2024!
